SEEYouth 2021 exhibition - University of Lapland

SEEYouth 2021 — Mirroring Structures and Complexities in pluriversal art-based dialogues with the youth, University of Lapland.

The joint exhibition presents encounters and collaboration taking place during the SEEYouth project in 2020–2021 through art-based actions and dialogues. It brings together youth from across the Atlantic, sharing thoughts and experiences through videos and illustrations. This shared dialogue is accompanied by artworks, from different fields of art and design, created by students and professionals including members of the international SEEYouth Consortium.

The Kindness Wall exhibition posters made by young brazilian, latin american and african designers, led by the brazilian research Mônica Moura, from UNESP Bauru, in São Paulo, are an expression of equity, democracy and equality, approaching border issues, in the middle of the pandemic.

The team gathered weekly during See Youth’s activities in an online form, to discuss identity, exchanges, respect, culture and self awareness. National landmarks, food, clothing and politics were brought to the table, to be conditioned in posters through digital art, physical graphic experimentations and group collaborations, with campaigns to foster the possibilities within intercultural and international exchanges. The collection consists in 22 proposals drawn by 12 different artists and 2 curators.
